Special Education

Our Specialist Teachers and Educators can help in many areas of learning. They can provide support in the home, school or community environment.

Our Specialist Teachers and Educators will use a range of evidence-based approaches to help your child learn and develop positive social behaviours. This may include Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) therapy, Positive Behaviour Support (PBS), TEACCH, and Functional Behaviour Assessment (FBA).

Our Specialist Teachers and Educators are also trained in the use of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) systems and can assist the individual in using their system and build upon their language. They are also trained in teaching individuals who are Deaf/Hard of Hearing.

Our Specialist Educators are experts in facilitating the individual’s strengths and interests and encouraging them to learn at the full potential. Some areas they can help include:

  • Auditory Discrimination
  • Learn Auslan or Key Word Sign language
  • Build Expressive and Receptive Language
  • Learn to read
  • Develop literacy and numeracy skills
  • Behaviour management
  • Establish routines
